Since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a pandemic two years ago, we have continued to learn about the virus, infection, long-term eects, and protective immunity. Vaccines and treatment are helping in the reduction of severe disease and fatalities. However, the emergence of new variants of concern may pose a threat to their ecacy. Research on the adaptive immune response (T-cell and antibody responses) to infection and/or vaccination is crucial for understanding protection. Additionally, this research helps adapt treatments and vaccines as the virus evolves. In this webinar, Dr. Sette provides an update on his research focused on the adaptive immune response to SARS-CoV-2 and its variants after infection and/or vaccination. Dr. Sette also discusses the current challenges and future perspectives.
